Cowl Fitting - 08/08/2001

MVC-237F.JPG (44541 bytes) The smaller of the two cutouts for the sparkplug wires.  No cleanup on the hole has been done yet in these pictures.
MVC-238F.JPG (51586 bytes) The larger of the two cutouts.  I probably could have made it a little more snug, but I'm sure vibration would be an issue.  I angle to sparkplug wire down a little so as not to have to cut an overly long hole in the cowl. That is why the two holes look different.
MVC-240F.JPG (42127 bytes) This picture shows how much the sparkplug wire sticks out due to the engine offset.  Even if the engine had not been offset, the sparkplug wires would have rubbed the inside of the cowl, so holes would be necessary anyway.
MVC-239F.JPG (61603 bytes) A cowl full of engine!  I will probably use the Dremel to open up the front vents just a hair more to allow as much airflow as possible.
