AMA Wing Sticker

AMA
Wing Sticker MS Word Version
|
Free |
11 KB |
This is a copy of the AMA wing sticker that should be placed inside
your plane. This sticker provides information about you so you may be contacted
in the event your lost plane is found. The sticker also provides a warning
concerning fuel flammability and a warning against unauthorized
possesion. The file is in PDF format
(you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print
it) or Microsoft Word. The sticker is
slightly narrower than a strip of standard clear packing tape. Print the
sticker and fill in the contact information. Place the sticker on a
clean surface of the wing inside the fuselage or wing saddle area. Then
place the strip of clear packing tape over it, ensuring that the tape overlaps
equally on both the right and left sides. |

Model
Aircraft Weight and Balance |
Freeware |
3.5 MB |
This program by Mike Sayer is intended to predict the weight,
wing loading and centre of gravity of a model aircraft based on a description
of the parts. This list of parts may consist of: hardware, e.g. motor,
receiver, fuselage sheet, longerons formers, etc., wing spars, sheeting and
ribs covering. Hardware parts are entered as a weight and position, all other
parts are entered as dimensions and a density value. |

Airfoils |
Shareware |
197 KB |
NACA Airfoils is a shareware program from KelComp (Frank
Kelly, President) which can print any NACA 4 or 5-digit airfoil to any scale
with excellent precision on an ordinary dot matrix, ink jet, or laser printer.
It is intended for use in model airplane design. Provision is made for camber,
center of camber, chord, skin thickness, spar and leading edge dimensions (in
inches or millimeters). A tapered wing routine facilitates the boring but
necessary calculations for a tapered wing. The program can display pairs of
airfoils on the screen for comparison and can generate files compatible with
ModelCAD, DesignCAD or Foiled Again!! (KelComp is not affiliated in any way
with either company.). It also will display outlines of the members of an
airfoil library in ModelCAD or Foiled Again!! |

There
is an excellent Excel worksheet that has all
the formulas for calculating the required
torque requirements, offsets, differentials,
and so on. More information that you probably
care to know. However, its easy, its free,
based on sound engineering principals, and much
better than a simple guess. The
spreadsheet allows you to enter various
parameters regarding the size of the control
surfaces, estimated maximum aircraft speed,
degrees of deflection, and control geometry.
From this, it will calculate the estimated
torque which will the servo will be required
to produce to maintain this deflection. The
results are listed in a table which shows the
torque requirements through various speeds and
control deflections. This spreadsheet
was written by Craig Tenney. Requires MS Excel. |

A
very nice utility from Barry's
Model Aircraft Page. This
utility calculates the thrust produced by an
engine given a set of parameters such as prop
type, diameter, and pitch, number of blades,
engine speed, and air density.
Calculates the load, speed, and
horsepower. Also has a tab that
calculates wing load and thrust to weight
ratio. |

Winfoil is a an aeronautical computer aided design tool from
Winfoil Aeronautical Design Software for designing, analysing and
modifying model aircraft. It also provides the ability to print the design
(wing ribs, fuselage sides, wing and tail plans) to any Windows supported
printer and export design components to DXF files for import into other CAD
programs such as AutoCAD. It is typically used for Radio Control Gliders,
Powered Aircraft (Scale,Sport and Pylon). Winfoil is Shareware. This enables
the user to try the product before buying it. Registered users receive one free
upgrade to the next major release. Minor updates are available free from this
web site. |
