Ed Kranz
I joined the RRCC in December of 2005. Gary Mills had just been elected
as the new President and I was very fortunate to have him assigned as my
trainer. I had flown RC some 30 years earlier in Turkey (only flew for
about 6 months before being transferred to Alaska), while I was in the
U.S. Air Force. Prior to being elected as Vice President I served for an
interim period as Safety Officer. Flying RC serves as my island of
relaxation from the work environment. The fellowship with other pilots
and the great friendships I have had the opportunity to make are the
reasons I believe many enjoy this sport. I enjoy flying all types of
aircraft. I currently have a hanger that consists of two float planes
(one that flies best inverted with a feather attached to the tail), two
slow flyers (Maham 3-D, and You-Can-Do), P-51 Mustang (got it just so I
could qualify for a www.wyliewarbird T-Shirt), Extra 300, Baby Edge 540
Wild Hare (under construction), one electric Katana MD, and two
disposable pylon racers (Quickie 500).
