Allen Delger
My interest in the RC hobby started at about 12 years old. One of my
friend’s father had several RC aircraft hanging in their house. I didn’t
get to see him fly them, as he was not very active at that time, but I
was fascinated with them. I bought my first RC airplane in 1994, a
crashed basket-case Sky Lark trainer with a Super Tiger 40, and a Futaba
AM gold box radio. I attempted twice to fly it on my own, and repaired
the major crash damage that resulted. I stumbled onto the RRCC field in
1999 while in search of a boat ramp, and decided to drag out my beat-up
trainer and hang around the field looking wistful. Will Kuhnle offered
to train me, I joined the club, and have been a member since. I’ve owned
a limited number of RC planes, and tend to fly the wings off of one
before I go to another. I currently fly a Sig Somethin Extra built from
a kit, and have a 40 sized Ultra Stick ARF, and Decathlon ARF in work. I
like float planes and most of my planes have, or will fly off of the
water.
I served the Club on the mowing crew a couple years ago, I help with as
many of the club events as I can, and I directed the Float Fly last
year. I appreciate your confidence in electing me as your club
secretary, and look forward to the task.
